Overview
SwasthAI provides users with the ability to delete their account and associated personal data in compliance with privacy regulations and our commitment to user data rights. This page outlines the account deletion process, what data is removed, and important considerations before deletion.
How to Delete Your Account
Option 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)
- Open the SwasthAI app on your mobile device
- Navigate to Settings → Account Settings → Privacy & Data
- Select "Delete Account"
- Confirm your identity by entering your password or using biometric authentication
- Review the deletion summary showing what data will be removed
- Click "Permanently Delete Account" to confirm
Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Once deleted, you cannot recover your account, data, or any community contributions.
Option 2: Email Request
If you cannot access the in-app deletion feature, you can request account deletion via email:
- Send an email to rohnsha0@gmail.com
- Use the subject line: "Account Deletion Request - SwasthAI"
- Include the following information:
- Your registered email address
- Your username
- Reason for deletion (optional)
- Confirmation that you understand the deletion is permanent
Processing Time: Email deletion requests are processed within 7 business days.
What Data Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
User Profile Data
- Email address
- Name (first and last)
- Username
- Profile settings and preferences
- Account creation date and metadata
Community Content
- All your posts and comments in the community feature
- Your community profile and activity history
- Likes, reactions, and interactions on community content
App Usage Data
- Saved API keys for third-party LLM services
- App preferences and settings
- Usage analytics tied to your account
Firebase Database Records
- User record in the
users
collection - Username entry in the
usernames
collection - All associated community posts and interactions
What Data is NOT Deleted
The following data is not affected by account deletion:
Local Device Data
- Scan results and medical images stored locally on your device
- Downloaded educational content
- App cache and temporary files
- Local preferences (these remain until you uninstall the app)
Third-Party Services
- Data shared with third-party LLM providers (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude) during scan verification
- Any data stored by these services according to their retention policies
Anonymized Analytics
- Aggregated, anonymized usage statistics that cannot be traced back to you
- General app performance and crash reports without personal identifiers
Important Considerations
Before You Delete
- Export your data: Currently, there is no automated data export feature. Contact us if you need copies of your community posts
- Review third-party services: Check with any third-party LLM providers you've used regarding their data retention
- Backup local data: Ensure any important scan results on your device are backed up if needed
After Deletion
- Username availability: Your username may become available for other users after deletion
- Re-registration: You can create a new account with the same email address, but it will be treated as a completely new account
- Community content: Your posts and comments will be removed, which may affect ongoing community discussions
Processing Timeline
- In-app deletion: Immediate (within minutes)
- Email requests: Within 7 business days
- Complete data removal: Up to 30 days for all backups and cached data to be cleared
Data Retention for Legal Compliance
In certain circumstances, we may be required to retain some data for legal compliance:
- Records required by law enforcement or regulatory authorities
- Data needed for ongoing legal proceedings
- Financial records for tax or audit purposes (if applicable)
Such retention will be limited to the minimum required by law and will not include personal identifying information where possible.
Verification Process
To protect against unauthorized deletion requests:
- In-app deletion: Requires authentication with your current password or biometric verification
- Email requests: We will send a confirmation email to your registered address requiring verification within 48 hours
Alternative to Deletion
If you're concerned about privacy but don't want to permanently delete your account, consider:
- Removing personal information: Update your profile to remove personal details
- Deleting community posts: Manually remove your community contributions
- Logging out: Simply stop using the app without deletion
